GermanyAs the second market to strongly subsidize PV (photovoltaic) installations, Germany has a significant installed base of approximately 50 GW - producing ~7% of the total electrical energy consumption in Germany. Today subsidies for private and commercial applications <40 kW remain well above 0,1 €/kWh allowing for attractive returns. Larger projects are subsidized as well, which makes Germany an attractive PV market - for residential, commercial and utility scale PV projects.
NigeriaWithout a PV subsidy the main driver in Nigeria is the substitution of Diesel / gasoline gen sets - needed due to poor grid availability. Generators are the most expensive source of electricity and a PV system on your roof can reduce the fuel consumption drastically. Combined with a battery system the diesel can remain switched off at almost any time.
